This European Standard specifies relevant requirements of Annex I of the EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC for metal sawing machines placed on the market for the first time in the EEA in order to facilitate the demonstration of conformity with these requirements. This standard specifies technical safety requirements and measures for the metal sawing machines to be applied by designers, manufacturers, installers and/or suppliers of such equipment. This standard also contains information to be provided to the user by the manufacturer. The requirements contained in this standard cover the intended use under normal workshop conditions in non-explosive atmospheres, including installation, set-up, maintenance and repair, and dismantling for relocation or disposal of metal sawing machines. This standard also applies to ancillary equipment required for metal sawing machines. This standard deals with specific hazards and the corresponding protective measures.
