This standard specifies a test method for the assessment of the resistance of coatings to pressure-water jetting. The test method simulates the effects pressure-water jetting has on a coating. The method is mainly used for testing automotive coatings, but is also applied in other areas. The determination of the resistance of coatings to pressure water-jetting is also expressed in German as "Dampfstrahltest". The committee responsible for this standard is NA 002-00-07 AA "Allgemeine Prüfverfahren für Beschichtungsstoffe und Beschichtungen" ("General test methods for coating materials and coatings") at DIN.
