This part of ISO 1891 specifies terms and definitions for fastener coatings, primarily intended for corrosion protection and functional purposes. These terms are mainly intended for use in conjunction with EN ISO 4042, EN ISO 10683 and EN ISO 10684.The standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 2 "Fasteners" in collaboration with CEN/TC 185 "Fasteners", the secretariats of which are held by DIN. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 067-00-06 AA "Oberflächenschichten von Verbindungselementen" ("Surface coatings of fasteners") of the Standards Committee Fasteners (FMV) at DIN.
