This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of the direction of twist in yarns, the amount of twist, in terms of turns per unit length, and the change in length on untwisting, by the direct counting method. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 38 "Textiles" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 "Textiles and textile products", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 062-05-21 AA "Physikalisch technologische Prüfverfahren für Textilien" ("Physical and technological test methods for textiles") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
