Overview
This part of the standard classifies orthodontic base polymers and their copolymers used in the construction of both active and passive removable orthodontic appliances. Their requirements and test methods and the requirements with respect to marking, packaging and instructions for use are specified. The International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 106/SC 2/WG 11 "Denture base polymers" (secretariat: SN, Norway) in collaboration with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). On the national level the responsible committee is Working Committee NA 014-00-18 AA "Kieferorthopädische Produkte" ("Orthodontic materials") at NADENT.
