Overview
This part of ISO 21028 specifies the toughness requirements of metallic materials for use at a temperature below -80 °C to ensure their suitability for cryogenic vessels. This part of ISO 21028 is not applicable to unalloyed steels and cast materials. DIN EN ISO 21028-1 is intended as a replacement for the standard DIN EN 1252-1:1998-05. The main technical change is that the ISO document and the CEN document have been merged and their contents harmonized. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 0160005 AA "Kryo-Behälter; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 268 und ISO/TC 220" ("Cryogenic vessels; National mirror committee to CEN/TC 268 and ISO/TC 220") at DIN Standards Committee Pressurized Gas Installations (NDG).
