This part of DIN EN ISO 21549 defines a general structure for the different types of data to be defined in other parts of DIN EN ISO 21549 using UML notation. The standard series defines data structures held on patient healthcards compliant with the physical dimensions of ID-1 cards, as defined by ISO/IEC 7810. The following changes have been made with respect to DIN EN ISO 21549-1:2004-10: a) the formulation in the scope has been improved and the restriction of cards for single-application has been deleted; b) in the normative references, ISO 21549, Parts 2 to 8, were added; c) in clause 5, the title of ISO 21549-7 was changed to "Medication data" in the text and in Figure 1. The references to ISO 21549, Parts 2 to 7, were revised. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 063-07-04 AA "Sicherheit" ("Safety") at DIN.
This document replaces DIN EN ISO 21549-1:2004-10 .
