Overview
This International Standard specifies the characteristics of floor coverings based on expanded (cushioned) poly(vinyl chloride), supplied as either tiles or rolls. This International Standard includes a classification system based on the intensity of use, which shows where resilient floor coverings give satisfactory service. International Standard ISO 26986:2010 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 219 "Floor coverings" of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted as EN ISO 26986:2012 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 "Resilient, textile and laminate floor coverings", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 054-04-05 AA "Bodenbeläge" ("Floor coverings") of the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK) at DIN e. V.
