The standard specifies requirements and test methods for the characteristics of external tooth bleaching products, in order to increase the safety of use of these products. It specifies requirements and test methods for external appearance, exposure to chemicals, the associated sampling, the necessary information in the test report and the information for the marking, labelling and for the packaging, which is also specified therewith. The International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 106/SC 7/WG 7 "Dental bleaching products" (secretariat: ANSI: USA) together with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). At DIN, the responsible Working Committee is NA 014-00-19 AA "Mundpflegeprodukte" ("Oral hygiene products") of NADENT.
