Overview
This test standard specifies methods for the exposure of rubber and plastics hoses to three types of laboratory light sources (xenon-arc, fluorescent UV and open-flame carbon-arc lamps). This way changes in colour, appearance and other physical properties caused by the weather can be assessed. Results from the three light sources and the different sets of exposure conditions specified are not comparable. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber and rubber products", SC 1 "Hoses" of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 "Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies". The committee responsible for this standard is NA 045-02-12 AA "Schläuche" ("Hoses") at the Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU).
