Overview

This European Standard specifies a procedure for testing the leak tightness of mechanical joints of thermoplastics or metal fittings and thermoplastics pressure pipes under negative pressure. This standard is intended for use by manufacturers and users of these socket joints and the testing institutes involved. In particular, the standard covers product safety aspects. DIN EN ISO 3459 is the German version of the European standard EN ISO 3459 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems". The committee responsible for DIN EN ISO 3503 is NA 054-05-02 AA "Prüfverfahren für Rohre" ("Test methods for pipes") at DIN.
