This International Standard specifies a method by which the dimensional changes associated with compacting and sintering of metallic powders are compared with those of a reference powder when processed under similar conditions. The text of ISO 4492 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 119 "Powder metallurgy" (secretariat: SIS, Sweden). The responsible German committee is NA 145-01-02 AA "Probenahmen und Prüfverfahren für Pulver (einschließlich Pulver für Hartmetalle)" ("Sampling and testing methods for powders (incl. powders for hardmetals)") at the Technology of Materials Standards Committee (NWT) at DIN.
