This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of which is held by NBN (Belgium). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 062-04-37 AA "Prüfung von Weich- und Hartschäumen" ("Testing of flexible and rigid cellular materials") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP). This International Standard specifies a general procedure for the determination of the volume percentage of open and of closed cells of rigid cellular plastics, by measurement first of the geometrical volume and then of the air-impenetrable volume of test specimens.
