DIN EN ISO 5395 is the first globally valid standard for lawn mowers. This standard cancels and replaces EN 836:1997+A4:2011, for adjustment to the technical requirements of DIN EN ISO, a longer duration of application until September 2014 has been agreed. For DIN EN ISO 5395, modifications with regard to the cutting-means enclosure, seat contact switch and the roll-over protective structure have already been announced. Furthermore, Part 4 on lawnmowers with a standing user is planned. The responsible committee on the national level is NA 020-00-11-01 UA "Rasenmäher" ("Lawn mowers") at DIN.
