This product standard specifies the requirements for three types of general-purpose textile-reinforced thermoplastic water-discharge hose which are suitable for use over an operating temperature range of -10 °C to +60 °C and up to a maximum working pressure of 2,5 MPa (25 bar). At temperatures above 23 °C and particularly above 40 °C, the maximum working pressure will be reduced. These hoses are not intended to be used for conveyance of potable (drinking) water, for washing-machine inlets, as firefighting hoses, for special agricultural machines or as gardening hoses for the consumer market. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber and rubber products", SC 1 "Hoses" (secretariat: DSM, Malaysia) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 "Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies", the secretariat of which is held by BSI. The responsible national standardization committee is NA 045-02-12 AA "Schläuche" ("Hoses") of the Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU).
