Overview

This test standard specifies a method for the determination of the tensile strength, in the longitudinal, of steel cords constituting the carcass of conveyor belts. It applies exclusively to conveyor belts with a steel carcass. A method for the determination of elongation is specified in ISO 7622-1. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41 "Pulleys and belts (including veebelts)", SC 3 "Conveyor belts" of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) and adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 188 "Conveyor belts". The responsible national committee is Working Committee NA 045-02-05 AA "Fördergurte"("Conveyor belts") at DIN Standards Committee Rubber Technology (FAKAU).
