Overview

ISO 80000-4 gives the names, symbols and definitions for quantities and units of classical mechanics. Where appropriate, conversion factors are also given. The first edition of ISO 80000-4 cancels and replaces the second edition of ISO 31-3:1992. The text of ISO 80000-4:2008 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 12 "Quantities and units" (secretariat: SIS, Sweden) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted as EN ISO 80000-11:2013 by the CEN Technical Board (BT). The responsible German committee , is Working Committee NA 152-01-09-02 AK "Kenngrößen" ("Characteristic numbers") of the Fundamental Technical Standards Committee (NATG) at DIN.
