ISO 80000-5 includes names, symbols and definitions for quantities and units of thermodynamics. Where appropriate, conversion factors are also given. The first edition of ISO 80000-5 supersedes ISO 31-4:1992 and ISO 31-4:1992/Amendment 1:1998. ISO 80000-5 was released in 2011 as an amended version based on this German standard. The text of ISO 80000-5:2007 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 12 "Quantities and units" (secretariat: SIS, Sweden) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been adopted as EN ISO 80000-5:2013 by the CEN Technical Steering Committee (BT). Working Group NA 152-01-02-01 AK "Mathematische Begriffe und Zeichen" ("Mathematical concepts and symbols") is responsible on the national level.
