The standard describes a designation for dental extraction forceps in accordance with the intended clinical application. The International Standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 106/SC 4/WG 8 "Dental hand instruments" (secretariat: ANSI, USA), in collaboration with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). At DIN the responsible Working Committee is NA 014-00-23 AA "Dentalmedizinische Instrumente" ("Dental medical instruments") of NADENT.
