Overview
This document specifies requirements for the qualification, quality assurance and post processing for metal parts made by powder bed fusion. This document specifies methods and procedures for testing and qualification of various characteristics of metallic parts made by additive manufacturing powder bed fusion processes, in accordance with ISO 17296-3, categories H and M. This document is intended to be used by part providers and/or customers of parts. This standard is at the top of the standards hierarchy for additive manufacturing and is therefore intended for application to metallic components manufactured using an additive manufacturing process. This document specifies qualification procedures where appropriate to meet defined quality levels. The responsible national standardization committee is Joint Working Committee NA 145-04-02 GA "Additive Fertigung - NWT & NAS Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss Metalle" ("Additive Manufacturing - NWT, NAS & NL Joint working committee Metals and Aerospace") at DIN Standards Committee Technology of Materials (NWT).
