Overview

This standard applies to radiographic inspection systems for packaged cargo and vehicles carrying cargo. The inspection systems were developed and provided to facilitate the detection of unauthorized materials. Such systems are widely used in safety monitoring at customs control points and at ports of entry. This standard also provides criteria for selection of such systems. The responsible committee is K 967 "Mess-, Steuer- und Regelungstechnik im Zusammenhang mit ionisierender Strahlung" ("Measuring, control and regulatory technology in connection with ionizing radiation") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
