This document deals with the functional performance criteria and guidelines for robots intended for use in the active assisted living connected home environment, where the rated voltage does not exceed 250 V for single-phase robots and 480 V for others. This document makes it possible to identify and define the function/performance and specific technical requirements of AAL robots. This document will serve as a criterion for the design, manufacture, testing, and certification of such products and provide technical support in order to ensure the quality of robotic products. Robots intended for medical use are not within the scope of this document. Other standards shall be considered in this regard. This document supports the consideration as well as integration of the characteristics and needs of AAL users in the development, design, and evaluation of robots in order to promote the functional performance of robots in the AAL field.
