Overview

This standard specifies the interchangeability dimensions and tolerances of punch holder shanks used in tools for pressing. Standard DIN ISO 10242-2 applies to Form C punch holder shanks, standard DIN ISO 10242-3 to Form D punch holder shanks. Along with dimensions of different size classes of punch holder shanks, the DIN-ISO standard gives information about the choice of materials and their hardness as well as standard designations of the components. The standards contain the corresponding German version of the international standard which has been prepared by ISO/TC 29/SC 8 "Tools for pressing and moulding", Working Group 2 "Tools for pressing". The responsible German Mirror Committee is Working Committee NA 121-03-02 AA "Werkzeuge der Stanztechnik" ("Tools for pressing") at FWS.
