Following the publication of DIN ISO 17927-1 and DIN ISO 17927-2, DIN 29595 should no longer be applied to new designs, but can still be considered as agreed upon when it is mentioned or referenced to in specifications, such as drawings. Historical standards such as DIN 29595:2007-04 may still be applied - unless legally prohibited - if contractual partners have agreed to do so, for instance to source spare parts for existing products or to ensure the continued operation of existing systems. National Annex NA provides an explanation of the context and information on the continued operation of existing aircrafts and spacecrafts and their components using DIN 29595. This document specifies acceptance criteria for fusion weldments on metallic components. It is to be applied provided it is referenced or approved by the responsible engineering/design authority. This document covers the processes given in Table 1 and the material groups given in Table 2. The responsible national standardization committee is Working Committee NA 092-00-17 AA "Schweißen im Luft- und Raumfahrzeugbau (DVS AG A 9)" ("Welding in aerospace (DVS AG A 9)") at DIN Standards Committee Welding and allied processes (NAS).
This document replaces DIN 29595:2007-04 .
