Overview

This International Standard contains a vocabulary and a compilation of the various terms in use with associated symbol relative to ship's deck machinery/deck equipment of seagoing ships. The general terms used in connection with this subject include specific terms associated with anchoring and mooring, cargo handling, towing, ancillary deck equipment and special deck machinery on special ships. By means of listed "diagrams" in the symbols the series of combination of symbols were also given to represent the various types of deck machinery. It also gives terms in connection with special deck machinery for working and oceanographic research ships.
