This standard contains the most commonly used terms relating to lubrication of plain bearings, their definitions and classification. The underlying standard ISO 4378-3 has been prepared by ISO/TC 123 "Plain bearings". Working Committee NA 118-02-01 AA "Terminologie" ("Terminology") at the Rolling Bearings and Plain Bearings Standards Committee (NAWGL) is responsible regarding the German collaboration and this translation.
