This standard specifies requirements for multilayer materials for the manufacture of thin-walled plain bearings (half bearings, bushes, thrust washers). The underlying standard ISO 4383 has been prepared by ISO/TC 123 "Plain bearings". The committee responsible for the German collaboration and this translation is Working Committee NA 118-02-02 AA "Werkstoffe, Schmierung, Prüfung" ("Materials, lubrication, testing") at DIN Standards Committee Rolling Bearings and Plain Bearings (NAWGL).
