DIN ISO 6055:2024-04

This document specifies the requirements and testing of overhead guards, operator's leg(s)/feet protection for industrial trucks and overturning testing of industrial variable-reach trucks with operator position not protected by the boom (hereafter referred to as "trucks") requiring an overhead guard according to ISO 3691-1 and ISO 3691-2.This document is not applicable to rough-terrain variable-reach trucks and slewing rough-terrain variable-reach trucks. The standard differs from DIN ISO 6055:2013-10 as follows: - The vertical distance from the platform to the underside of the overhead guard has been increased for industrial trucks with a driver's cab; - the requirements for all-terrain industrial trucks with variable reach have been excluded; - specifications and requirements for transparent material have been added, used to span openings in the top of the overhead guard structure and not meeting the requirements of 4.3.1; - user information on testing the structures and maintaining the transparent material has been added. The national interests were represented by Committee NA 060-22-42 AA "Sicherheit von Flurförderzeugen" ("Safety of powered industrial trucks") at Technical Section "Fördertechnik" ("Conveying technology") of the Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of the manufacturers and users of industrial trucks, and of the employers' liability insurance contributed to this standard.
