This International Standard defines the minimum safety requirements for ski-poles for alpine skiing and specifies test methods to check conformity with these requirements. Special designs may deviate from this International Standard, but shall be marked in a durable manner as special designs (see 9.2). The international draft standard ISO/DIS 7331:2010 has been prepared by ISO/TC 83/SC 4 "Sports equipment". The responsible national Committee is Working Committee NA 112-03-01 AA "Ski- und Snowboardsportgeräte" ("Ski and snowboard sports equipment") of the Sports Equipment Standards Committee (NASport) at DIN.
