This International Standard provides guidelines for carrying out comparative testing of alpine skis with the objective of evaluating the performance characteristics. It is applicable to alpine skis in accordance with ISO 6289. This document (ISO 8783:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 83 "Sports and other recreational facilities and equipment", Subcommittee SC 4 "Snowsports equipment", the secretariat of which is held by ASI (Austria). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 112-03-01 AA "Ski- und Snowboardsportgeräte" ("Ski and snowboard sports equipment") at DIN Standards Committee Sports Equipment (NASport).
