This standard applies to the design and installation of electrical systems and system parts in accessible closed electrical operating areas. It only applies in conjunction with the corresponding standards of the DIN VDE 0100 series (VDE 0100). The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 221.1 "Schutz gegen elektrischen Schlag" ("Protection against electric shock") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Informational Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
