Overview

This national standard applies for residual current operated circuit-breakers with integral overcurrent protection (hereinafter called RCBOs) Type B+ consisting of a mains-independent part for operation of sinusoidal residual alternating and pulsating residual direct currents and a mains-dependent part to operate at smooth residual direct currents, for household and similar uses with rated voltages not exceeding 440 V AC and rated currents not exceeding 125 V with an overcurrent protection device with a rated braking capacity of no more than 25 000 A which are primarily intended for protection against electrical shock. RCBOs in accordance with this standard are intended for use in single-phase and multi-phase alternating current circuits. They are not intended for use in direct current circuits. The standard differs from DIN VDE 0664-401 (VDE 0664-401):2012-05 as follows: This document is used for the design and testing of Type B+ residual current operated circuit-breakers with integral overcurrent protection.
