This standard applies to the design, set up, extension, alteration and operation of alarm systems relating to fire, intrusion and hold-up situations and general requirements. For fire alarm systems the standard applies together with DIN VDE 0833-2 (VDE 0833 Part 2), for intrusion and hold-up systems this standard applies together with DIN VDE 0833-3 (VDE 0833 Part 3). The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.

Replacement amendments

This document replaces DIN VDE 0833-1:2009-09; VDE 0833-1:2009-09 .
