Overview

This standard is applicable to grade GL-K3 end shackles used on vessels at ambient temperatures down to -20 °C. End shackles are components of grade GL-K3 slip stoppers according to VG 84514. With respect to edition VG 84503:1998-03 the series of nominal sizes has been extended up to 90 and the bases of calculation have been added in a new Annex A, amongst others. This VG standard gives the requirements, dimensions, masses, material, mechanical properties, technical specification and a designation example. The dimensions can be determined with the bases of calculation presented in Annex A in accordance with the indicated formation rules. The committee responsible for this VG standard is NA 132-01-05 AA "Heben, Schleppen, Ankern" ("Heaving, towing, anchoring").
