This document has been prepared at DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT), Working Committee NA 132-01-05 AA "Heben, Schleppen, Ankern" ("Heaving, towing, anchoring") in collaboration with the DIN Standards Committee Round Steel Link Chains (NRK), Working Committee NA 085-00-05 AA "Rundstahlketten, Einzelteile und Zubehör für die Schifffahrt" ("Round steel link chains, components and accessories for marine purposes"). This document is applicable to shots of chain cable made of non-magnetizable (NM) austenitic steel which are used both on board of surface watercraft as well as submarines of the Deutsche Marine (German Navy). They are components of studless anchor chain cables of grade NM as specified in VG 84511.
