Overview

This standard is applicable to grade GL-K3 lashing links used on vessels at ambient temperatures down to -20 °C. Lashing links are a component of grade GL-K3 outboard swivel shots according to VG 84512. With respect to edition VG 84512:1998-03 the series of nominal sizes has been extended up to 90 and the bases of calculation have been added in a new Annex A. The lashing link has been modified in terms of design. This VG standard gives the dimensions, masses, mechanical properties, technical specification and a designation example of the lashing link. The committee responsible for this VG standard is NA 132-01-05 AA "Heben, Schleppen, Ankern" ("Heaving, towing, anchoring").
