Overview

The VG standard documents roller shackles of non-magnetizable steels which are primarily used on vessels with non-magnetizable equipment. Shackles according to this standard shall not be used as means for load suspension, lifting or load carrying according to DIN 15003:1970-02 "Lifting appliances - Load-suspending devices, loads and forces; Definitions". The document specifies the assembly, requirements, designs and the mechanical properties for nominal size 2. The manufacturer shall verify tests with associated certificates and markings as part of the quality assurance measures. An inspection certificate according to DIN EN 10204 on the load test shall be issued by a recognized classification society.
