This generic standard applies in combination with DIN EN 60282-1 (VDE 0670-4) for current-limiting high-voltage fuse systems. On new marine vessels, electrical installations working with alternating voltages of more than 1 kV and which are required to be correspondingly protected are being increasingly used. The civilian basic standard for high-voltage fuses had to be supplemented by special requirements for application on marine vessels. Additional requirements and characteristics that are absolutely necessary for this case of application are merely recommended in the aforementioned standard or can be found in the informative annex. Specifications of this type have been correspondingly selected and adopted in the form of normative elements. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 132-03-51 AA "Sicherungen" ("Fuses") of the Shipbuilding and Marine Technology Standards Committee (NSMT).
