Overview
VG 95218-24 is a type-approval standard for single-core insulated cables with sheath which are used for instrument wiring and as components for cables. The detail standard specifies the special technical requirements and the tests for the respective component. This standard applies in connection with the generic standard VG 95218-2 and the components according to this standard are subject to type test according to VG 95211. The components approved by the BAAINBw according to VG 95218-22 can be found with their manufacturer in VG 95212. From 2018/01/01, the requirements in this standard for the operating voltage (previously AC 600 V/DC 600 V) will be changed to common international voltage levels (AC 600 V/DC 900 V). This standard has been prepared by up by the DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE), Working Committee NA 140-00-05 AA "Kabel und Leitungen" ("Cables and wires").
