The presented standard is a product standard for cables and insulated wires. The committee responsible for the standard is NA 140-00-05 AA "Elektrische Kabel und Leitungen" ("Electrical cables and wires") at DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE). This standard applies in connection with the generic standard VG 95218-2 for data transmission cables. The components are not designed for continuous installation in water. Data transmission cables in accordance with this standard are required to undergo qualification testing according to VG 95211.
