Overview
The presented standard is a detail specification for rotary switches. This standard covers manually operated rotary switches (called switches in the following) 16 A to 200 A with rated voltages up to AC 440 V and DC 500 V, rated insulation voltages up to AC 500 V and DC 600 V as well as for accessories. Switches according to this standard can be used for ambient temperatures from -45 °C to 55 °C. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 140-00-15 AA "Schalter" ("Switches") of the Electrical Engineering Standards Committee (NE) at DIN. Switches according to this standard are subject to a quality approval test according to VG 95211.
