This document is applicable to systems and equipment to be developed or procured for, or to be furnished to the Bundeswehr. It is also applicable to the modernisation of equipment already introduced. The document is applicable in case of requirements for the protection against the effects of the early-time HEMP (E1). The test procedure according to this document is used to verify the required immunity to interference/destruction of systems/equipment to direct effects of the early-time HEMP (E1). The early-time HEMP has the strongest effects regarding coupling to mobile and transportable systems and equipment. Working Committee NA 140-00-19 AA "Nuklear-Elektromagnetischer Puls (NEMP) und Blitz" ("Nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NEMP) and lightning protection") at DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE) is responsible for this document.
