The responsible committee for the standard is NA 140-00-14-01 UA "Steckverbinder und Steckvorrichtungen" ("Electrical connectors and plug-and-socket devices") at DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE). This standard is applicable in connection with VG 96917-1 and VG 96917-2 to connectors, 2-poles for cable cross-sections of 35 mm2 and 50 mm2. Components according to this standard are subject to type test; for this refer to VG 95211 and VG 96917-1. Components conforming to this standard are suitable for use at ambient temperatures ranging from -46 °C to +85 °C.
