This standard is a product standard for connectors. Shrouded connectors according this standard are applicable for rated voltages up to AC 690 V and rated currents up to 125 A. Shrouded connectors according to this standard are subject to a quality approval test according to VG 95211. Shrouded connectors in accordance with this standard are applicable at ambient temperatures of -35 °C to 60 °C. The mounting and separating dimensions according to this standard are valid for shrouded connectors according to VG 96919-3. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 140-00-14-03 UA "Steckvorrichtungen" of the Electrical Engineering Standards Committee (NE) at DIN.
