This generic standard is applicable to electrical cable and LWL assemblies in combination with the respective detail standard in the following referred to as components. The generic standard specifies the general requirements and provisions. It contains information on unchanging technical requirements and test conditions, namely properties and provisions that apply to the respective components as well as general procedures, matters of liability, patent law, etcetera. The detail standard specifies the specific technical requirements and tests applicable to the respective components.
