This standard applies in connection with generic specification VG 96932-2 for rechargeable lithium batteries 14,8 V 5,0 Ah used in the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces). The standard contains the technical requirements such as dimensions, materials, integrated Battery Management System, short-circuit protection, deep-discharge protection, charging methods, electromagnetic compatibility, information on type testing, quality assurance as well as marking and packaging. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 140-00-03 AA "Batterien" ("Batteries") of the DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE).
