For rescue forces initiating a rescuing action at an accident site, it is of utmost importance to make the correct decisions quickly to save lives of the traffic victims, and to avoid risking their own lives in the rescuing activity. Critical decisions shall be made in a very short time to make up the rescue strategy. In order to master this situation, it is necessary to have immediate access to clear information about the vehicle(s) involved. This concerns not only information about the location of the components (indicated in the rescue sheet), but also the concept to be dealt with (e.g. fire in the vehicle, dangerous products in the vehicle). The standardized format of the emergency rescue guide presented in this document aims to improve the situation described above.VG 96946 consists of two documents and was created based on the comparable documents for civil vehicles according to ISO 17840.VG 96946-1 specifies requirements that shall be taken into account when preparing an emergency respond guide for military land vehicles.
