This document shall help users of bricks according to DIN 25407-1 - during the construction of hot cells according to DIN 25407-3 and individual shielding walls by examples regarding the use of types of lead hot cells; - by supplying information for the construction of shielding walls; - for determination of the required wall thickness for shielding of gamma radiation depending on the energy. Application of the special construction elements according to DIN 25407-2, in particular during design of hot cells according to DIN 25407-3, is explained. This document has been prepared by NA 062-07-62 AA "Strahlenschutzeinrichtungen" ("Radiation protection") at the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP).
