This document (CEN/TR 15588) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 207 "Furniture", the secretariat of which is held by UNI (Italy). This document specifies terms for all types of hinges and their components for all fields of application. With the aid of figures it establishes different types, with the aim of facilitating understanding of the technical language. The committee responsible for this document is NA 042-05-06 AA "SpA CEN/TC 207/WG 8 Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für Möbelbeschläge" ("Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 207/WG 8 Requirements and test methods for hardware for furniture") at DIN.
