This Technical Report specifies a method for determining the leaching of active ingredients or other compounds from preservative treated wood by a semi-field method. It is applicable to wood-based products for use class 3 (outdoor above ground). Treated wood is placed outdoors, out of ground contact and exposed to weathering. The rainwater is retained and the leached substances are determined. The released quantities of active ingredients or other compounds related to the surface area of the wood can be used in scenarios for the environmental risk assessment of the treated wood. This DIN Technical Report supplements the laboratory method for determination of emissions from preservative treated wood to the environment in accordance with DIN CEN/TS 15119-1. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-03-06 AA "Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 38 und ISO/TC 165/SC 1 Dauerhaftigkeit von Holz und Holzprodukten" ("Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 38 and ISO/TC 165/SC 1 Durability of wood and wood products") at DIN.
